General Brown CSD is seeking a dedicated and compassionate long-term substitute special education teacher to provide high-quality instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs. This role involves implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), collaborating with families and staff, and fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and assess lessons tailored to meet the unique needs of students with IEPs.
- Implement evidence-based instructional strategies and accommodations in alignment with students' goals.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to ensure effective inclusion practices.
- Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals and report findings to relevant stakeholders.
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and team planning sessions, as needed.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of student performance and IEP implementation.
- Foster a safe, respectful, and engaging classroom environment that promotes learning and growth.
- Address behavioral challenges using positive behavior intervention strategies.
Qualifications:
- Valid NYS teaching certification. Will consider applicants working toward certification.
- Experience working with students with disabilities, including those with learning, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
- Understanding of IEP development and implementation.
- Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with technology tools and software for special education (preferred).

Long-Term Part-Time Physical Therapist Vacancy

Responsibilities:
School-based physical therapists (PT) are part of a team of related service providers who support a student’s ability to access his/her educational environment. As specialists in movement, they assist a student’s physical participation in a variety of settings throughout the school day. The primary role of the school PT is to help students benefit from their educational program within the educational environment.

General Brown Central School District is seeking a responsible and compassionate Bus Attendant to assist in providing safe and reliable transportation for students. The Bus Attendant will work closely with the bus driver to ensure students board, ride, and exit the bus safely while following all district policies and safety regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Assist students with boarding, securing seat belts, and safely exiting the bus.
- Monitor student behavior and ensure compliance with bus safety rules.
- Provide support to students with disabilities or special needs as required.
- Communicate effectively with the bus driver, school staff, and parents when necessary.
- Maintain a calm and orderly environment on the bus.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow safety protocols.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Transportation Department.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to interact professionally and compassionately with students of all ages.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle emergencies in a calm and efficient manner.
- Experience working with children is a plus.
Terms of employment are consistent with the most recent GBSRP Contract.
